How do I upload my website and what are the default files for?

You have a couple of options, you can use the file manager in the cPanel system, or you can use an FTP programme.

The url, and login for FTP are noted in your welcome email which was sent to you when you signed up.

By default we install a holding page, called default.php and folder called default, this folder contains supporting files for the holding page, and for the error page, we recommend that you do not delete this folder or its contents, unless you need to.

The .htaccess file is a system file, which we recommend you leave alone (you can edit it if you need to), this file handles server error reporting and sends errors to the error.php file (in the default folder), so if someone tries to access a none existent file for example, then a 404 error is shown by this page.
